that saying really does ring true. i have been sitting out on my balcony since 10 'til 7 this morning (my body cannot adjust to the fact that i do not have to get up before dawn on the weekends) and it is absolutely beautiful weather. i am at emerald isle this weekend with seth's family. we could not have asked for more perfect weather. yesterday morning it was cool enough to walk on the beach without breaking a sweat and then in the afternoon it was comfortable enough to lay out and throw the frisbee. ernesto did do quite a bit of damage this past week, bringing 70 mph winds to this island, but it is difficult to tell unless you are looking for it. on our way down, we did have to take a detour because the road was flooded.
it is nice to have a relaxing weekend away to mark the end of such a great summer. i think after this weekend i will be ready for some fall weather, football games, colorful leaves, sweaters, and some of mom's famous pumpkin crisp. mmm, mmm, mmmm.

Happy Labor Day to you! mmm...I wish I had some pumpkin to make pumpkin crisp. Maybe you can stop on the way home from the beach and buy one :)
